Esta obra recoge los aspectos fundamentales relacionados con la instalación, la configuración y el mantenimiento de las instalaciones de megafonía y sonorización. El libro comienza con el estudio de los principios básicos y los mecanismos de propagación del sonido. Después de analizar el principio de funcionamiento, las características y la configuración de los diferentes dispositivos que forman parte de la cadena de sonido, se estudian los distintos tipos de instalaciones que se pueden encontrar. Finaliza con una introducción a la edición digital del sonido. Asimismo, los aspectos teóricos se complementan con más de 140 ejemplos y más de 600 ilustraciones, esquemas y figuras. Al final de cada unidad se incluyen numerosas cuestiones de tipo test, actividades de aplicación guiadas y actividades de refuerzo. El autor, Juan Manuel Millán Esteller, es ingeniero técnico de telecomunicaciones y actualmente se dedica a la docencia como profesor de Ciclos Formativos en la familia de Electricidad y Electrónica. También colabora con el Institut Obert de Catalunya (IOC) como profesor, es autor de otros libros de formación publicados por esta editorial y elabora materiales didácticos para la Formación Profesional a distancia.
