-
Question:
What is the primary function of the 165 Ft x 2 Inch Tree Insect Barrier Tape?
Answer: The primary function of the Tree Insect Barrier Tape is to protect fruit trees and plants from crawling insects, including cicadas. This tape creates an effective barrier that deters pests from accessing and damaging your plants. It is designed for outdoor use in gardens and lawns, ensuring that your precious fruits and vegetables remain safe from insect infestation. -
Question:
How do I apply the cicada barrier tape to my trees?
Answer: To apply the cicada barrier tape, simply unwrap it from the roll and wrap it around the trunk and lower branches of your trees. Make sure the adhesive side faces the tree and adheres securely to prevent insects from crawling underneath. It's important to start at the bottom and overlap as you move up to ensure comprehensive coverage, effectively blocking pests from reaching your tree's foliage and fruit. -
Question:
Can the insect tape be used on all types of trees and plants?
Answer: Yes, the insect barrier tape is suitable for various types of fruit trees and plants. It is particularly effective on soft-skinned tree species that may be more susceptible to insect damage, such as apple, cherry, and peach trees. Additionally, it can be used on shrubs and garden plants, providing versatile protection across your outdoor green space. -
Question:
Is the adhesive used in the barrier tape safe for my trees?
Answer: The adhesive used in the Tree Insect Barrier Tape is formulated to be safe and non-toxic for plants. It minimizes any risk of bark damage or tree health complications while providing strong adhesion against pests. Furthermore, this allows you to confidently protect your garden without harming beneficial insects or pollinators that might be nearby. -
Question:
How long does the insect barrier tape last outdoors?
Answer: The 165 Ft x 2 Inch Tree Insect Barrier Tape is designed to withstand outdoor conditions and can last several weeks to months, depending on environmental factors like sun exposure and moisture. It's best to monitor the tape for signs of wear and replace it as needed to maintain effective pest protection throughout the growing season. -
Question:
Can I use this tape for indoor plants?
Answer: While the Tree Insect Barrier Tape is primarily designed for outdoor use, it can be used on indoor plants if you are facing a specific insect issue. However, ensure that the adhesive does not disrupt the indoor environment. For best results, it’s recommended to adapt its use appropriately based on your indoor conditions and types of plants. -
Question:
What types of insects does the cicada barrier tape protect against?
Answer: The cicada barrier tape specifically targets a variety of crawling insects, including cicadas, aphids, and other pests that may damage plants. By wrapping this tape around the tree trunk, you create a physical barrier that prevents these insects from climbing to your plants and feeding on the leaves and fruits, ensuring that they thrive unscathed. -
Question:
How should I store the insect barrier tape when not in use?
Answer: When not in use, store the insect barrier tape in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. This will help preserve the adhesive quality and ensure that the tape remains effective when you need it. Keeping it secure in its original packaging can also prevent any accidental damage to the tape before application during pest seasons. -
Question:
Can I combine the use of the tape with other pest control methods?
Answer: Yes, the insect barrier tape can be effectively combined with other pest control methods. For instance, you can use it alongside organic pesticides or beneficial insects that naturally deter pests. This multi-faceted approach tends to improve overall efficacy by creating a more hostile environment for pests, helping to safeguard your garden investment. -

DECOHS Plant Covers Editorial Review
165 Ft x 2 Inch Tree Insect Barrier Tape, Cicada Tree Wrap Protection Tapes | Adhesive Crawling Insect Tree Tape, Cicada Barrier Protection for Protecting Fruit Trees Plants Outdoor Lawn Garden provides a waterproof solution for numerous crawling insects. However, reviews highlight the tape's flimsiness, noting it tears easily during application and lacks stickiness. Users found that while effective against certain pests, it fails to deter flying insects. It's suggested that applying lotion enhances its effectiveness, yet it did not meet everyone’s expectations, leaving some feeling confused about its best usage. Overall, the tape's application process was praised, but its actual performance varies significantly based on insect type.
