The Vascer Bike Cable Lock is a heavy-duty, anti-theft braided steel cable with a vinyl coating and loops that can be used to secure various items such as bicycles, boats, ladders, gates, mowers and equipment. The cable is not 100% theft-proof, but it is a deterrent. The steel diameter is a little over 4mm or 0.16 inch. The length of the cable includes the looped ends. The looped end dimension is approximately 2 1/8 inches in its normal state, but can be squeezed down to 1 inch with a tool. The cable is made in China and requires a separate padlock or combination lock for use. Customers have had mixed experiences with the Vascer Bike Cable Lock. Some have found it flexible yet sturdy and exactly what they expected. Others have had negative experiences, with some even claiming that the cable is easily cut with common tools like a pocket knife or cutters. One customer stated they had their bikes locked up at work with this cable, but someone was able to cut through it and steal the bikes without being noticed. Another customer warned that if you locked your bike to a tree, someone could use the bike itself to break the cable.
