White-Rodgers Hot Surface Ignitor, 120V, Silicon Carbide, 767A-380

The Emerson 767A-380 Hot Surface Ignitor has garnered a mix of praise and criticism from customers who rely on it for their older Armstrong/Ultra furnaces. This ignitor is recognized as an exact OEM replacement, providing a straightforward, plug-and-play installation process that many users appreciate. Despite its design being somewhat outdated, customers value its availability, particularly when local hardware stores fall short in providing the correct components for older models. Many reviewers comment on the ease of installation, often taking only around 20 minutes, which is a significant convenience during emergencies when heating needs arise. The product's capability to restore heat quickly earns it favor among those who experienced failures in their existing ignitors. However, it is important to note that while it may work efficiently initially, there are concerns about its longevity, as multiple users reported that the ignitor tends to fail within a couple of years. Some customers have proactively chosen to purchase multiple units to mitigate future downtime. On the downside, one review raised alarm about the quality, indicating a failure within two months. This suggests that while it may perform adequately for many, there are instances of premature burnout that could lead to dissatisfaction, particularly since exchanges or returns may not always be possible after a short usage window. Overall, the Emerson 767A-380 Hot Surface Ignitor is a reliable choice for those looking to maintain older furnace models, but potential buyers should be prepared for the possibility of needing replacements more frequently than they might hope. **
