Answer: Yes I believe they would make a good walking and hiking shoe. They have good tread for traction and ankle support. -

Answer: Roadrunner dot com has a size conversion chart. They say 'Generally speaking, there’s a 1.5-size difference in length between women and men shoes (ladies, if you’re a size 8.5, you’d be a size 7 in men’s shoes) but the width size remains the same (so if you’re a women’s D, you’re also a men’s D).' So sounds like they recommend a men's 6.5 for you! -

Answer: They slip on pretty easy but still require hands & bending over. You're probably better off going with some Sketchers slip-ons. All I own are Keens since they always fit nice! -

Answer: No, the Targhee III Slip-On is not slip-resistant. If you are looking for something that offers that, all of our KEEN Utility styles are rated for oil- and slip-resistance. -

Are these insulated?
Answer: These are not, but these are: KEEN Men's Brixen Low Waterproof Insulated Shoe. I bought the uninsulated for my husband for working outside in the summer. He LOVES them. He raved about them so much that I bought him the insulated ones, too. Great for slipping on for going to the mailbox or bringing out the garbage. He even wears them to run errands.
