    Answer: If you are not going to storage heavy stuff you can use command hooks but we suggest you to install them to wall wall with provided mounting hardware for secure usage.

    Answer: Yes, they are laminated. They cannot be cut down easily.

    Answer: Yes, without the box you can fit at least 6 on there. With their boxes, its about 2-3 but you can stack the boxes.

    Answer: They are a lightweight wood with texture. The wood seems only stained, not sealed. It might splinter easily if cracked. You can let the texture show or sand them slightly for painting.

    Answer: Don't use command hooks. You need to screw this to the wall or use gorilla hooks. You need the metal part strongly secured to the wall.
