The Esbit 1300-Degree Smokeless Solid 14g Fuel Tablets are an excellent option for backpackers, campers or as part of an emergency kit. While technically they can be used indoors during a power outage, the strong smell makes it less than ideal unless necessary. Each tablet burns for about 4 minutes, and the cubes produce a hot and long-lasting flame with a low footprint to save on weight. The tablets can be ignited using a fire steel/fire starter, but Fast Fire tinders work better with spark ignition. It has also been found that the product has a longer shelf life if vacuum sealed.
