Answer: Actually it depends. Where I striper fish below dams, I regularly sling 5”-7” swim baits on 3oz jig heads up to 100 yards. This rod wouldn’t work for me. -

Answer: It can throw 2oz. I have but it isn't rated to 2oz. It's rated to 1.5oz. I just wouldn't fully unload full force at that weight. Otherwise good pole imo. -

The SHIMANO Inc. Scimitar 9Heavy SMS90H2B Spinning Rod Fuji Aluminum Oxide Guide is a good product for its price. It has a handle length of 2 & 3/4 inches above the reel seat and 13 inches below the reel seat, and a line test pound of 10-30 lbs and lure wt of 1/2 to 1 & 1/2 ounces. It is a 2 piece rod and can throw up to 2oz weight. However, it is not recommended to fully unload full force at that weight. Some users have found it not suitable for striper fish up to 20 pounds.
