Is it made of rubber?
Answer: No, the version purchased was a synthetic leather. -

How long is the rope?
Answer: The length of the rope is not recalled off hand, but it was plenty long to hang at the very top of a standard size tether ball pole for children and adolescents, and to grab it when needed. The biggest problem with this ball is that it was very hard and some of the kids complained of red welts when they were hit by it. In the end, I ordered a much softer ball.
