The mounting holes are 11 7/8 inches on center and it can be mounted on any flat surface with 2 screws. However, there is no bracket included to slide onto. The product is made in China but the quality seems to be holding up against outdoor elements. The lack of rubber or plastic liners may cause damage to the finish of the rod, but only the cork/foam handles touch the tubes. Customer reception: The majority of customers are happy with their purchase and found it easy to install and sturdy. Some have stated that it is much better than plastic holders and it is a must-have for pontoon boats. One customer even bought a second one because they liked the first so much. One customer did mention that the wells were coming loose when the boat was moving and the whole ride and everything was shaking. Another customer mentioned that they will have to see if the chrome weathers the Florida sun, rain, and saltwater.
