The SainSmart Genmitsu 3018-PROVer is a good machine for beginners to learn CNC on. It is not a great machine for experienced users or those who want to do production work. The noise level depends on what you are doing with it, when doing light engraving it's not too bad. However, when cutting/milling with a spiral up-cutting bit or doing a deeper v groove/engraving, it is quite loud. The machine can be used as a pass through to do longer pieces than the surface. Consumers face a challenge on programming it, but it is a great learning experience. The machine has many upgrades including larger beds and laser options, making it a perfect beginner CNC machine. There are some basic clamps that use bolts placed in the t-track of the bed. The machine reads Grbl set of G-code and software costs vary from free, or an annual subscription, to a few hundred US dollars, to a few thousand dollars. The machine can engrave stainless steel, but it takes several passes of 0.1mm. The packaging, manual, quality of components, and overall fit and finish are all much nicer than expected at this price level. Consumers recommend buying carbide bits and quick clamp hold-downs. Upgraded spindle (20k rpm), dust shoe, and some kind of work light if you don't have one are also necessary. The main disadvantage is that the small cutting surface is good only for smaller jobs.
