The Ambient Weather PM2.5 Wireless Outdoor Particulate Monitor is a solar-powered, wireless outdoor sensor that picks up particulates in the air such as smoke, dust, and smog. It can be mounted on a vertical surface like a wall and sends data to the WS-2000 and WS-5000 Consoles only. It does not detect chemicals in the air or tell you what they might be. This sensor works well with the Ambient Weather app to track indoor air quality. Some customers found the set up challenging, and the instructions were somewhat convoluted. A few users were disappointed that this is an add-on product and requires a full weather monitor to read the data from it. Some customers also faced issues with the solar panel not keeping the sensor charged, and the power failing every night after six weeks. A few other concerns were that the readings seemed to be based on humidity and not reliable during rain, fog, or moisture. It is also not compatible with WS-2902A or WS-0900-IP. Users can set up text alerts for monitored particular levels to maintain air quality.
