Answer: No, this is not made out of plastic. It is made out of thin metal, the combs are a thin metal. This is a real tiara, not a play toy. I don't mean that the gems are real, but they are beautiful. This tiara does not look cheap or tacky. It is gorgeous. My daughter wore it as a homecoming queen candidate.
