The Toneshaper HSS Wiring Kit is an excellent upgrade for those looking to improve the tone and control of their HSS guitar. The kit is designed to split a bridge humbucker, and the included wiring diagram uses Seymour Duncan's color coding. The kit comes with all the parts needed for an HSS setup and a clear wiring diagram for easy installation. The four "Fender" position (2/3/4/5) share the middle tone control, and attaching a resistor to that control brings the resistor into play in the four positions where that control is visible to the circuit. The treble bleed has its diagram, and it connects to the input and output lugs of the volume pot (the two that are not grounded). The bottom tone is active in position 1, while the middle control is active in positions 2-3-4-5. At no time are both tone controls active simultaneously. This kit has received great customer feedback from installation and tone improvements. The CTS pots make a noticeable difference, even with cheap pickups. The kit is easy to install, with its diagrams and customer service support. However, some customers have reported issues with the quality of the available wire and some loose shafts of the 500k pots.
